Flying Regulations

As a military pilot, you didn’t have to operate under any specific Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), but as a civilian pilot there are regulations that you must become very familiar with to stay safe and legal.

GENERAL OPERATIONS

Known as the least restrictive flying regulations because there is no concern about carrying passengers for hire. General flight rules on Non-Commercial operations.

REGULARLY SCHECULED AIR CARRIERS

This includes U.S.-based airlines, regional air carriers, and most cargo operators.

CHARTER-TYPE SERVICES

On-demand, unscheduled commercial flight operations.  This includes corporate, helicopter and some government operations.  Stricter rules and greater training requirements than Part 91.
